The Local 5 AGM took place on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
To celebrate 50 years of service to Local 5 members, throughout 2020 we will be holding a monthly draw to give a little something back to Local 5 members.
An online number generator will be used to select a line in our membership. Whoever is listed in that line will be the winner of that month’s draw. We will then contact the member by email (or by phone if no email is listed in our membership) and will they will have 14 days to contact our office regarding picking up their prize.
All members who are listed in our Local 5 membership database at the time of the draw will be eligible to win that month’s draw (which will take place during the last week of each month).
Each month’s prize is a $50 gift card/certificate to a local business. Here’s what we will be drawing for each month:
January Fromagerie Bothwell, 136 Provencher Blvd. - recipient Jason C.

Vacation is represented by a 24 hour period. Therefore a vacation day begins at 00:01 hrs.
The employer has confirmed that you cannot be mandated from an evening shift into a night when your vacation is scheduled for the day following an evening shift.
This understanding was communicated by the employer to PTMs and supervisors on January 26, 2018.
As per article 1503 of the collective agreement - the night shift is the first shift of the day.
